This was an exciting winter at the Disneyland Resort, with the opening of Disney's California Adventure, DCA, February 18th. This night photo of DCA was taken from the balcony of a room in Disney's new California Grand Hotel in January, before the park officially opened. (Thanks, Rebekah of LaughingPlace.com for inviting us up.) The Sun Wheel photo was taken February 21st, a rainy, and thus surprisingly uncrowded day. The park is a romantic depiction of California, and what's more Californian than our State Flower, the California Poppy? Well, maybe it's the rocky State Bear atop the mountain overlooking this garden.

DCA is a park to excite all the senses, but Disneyland is still the favorite park. Last summer's new fireworks show didn't end when summer did, thus this photo with the blooming tree, taken March 16th. We were near the Casey Jr. railroad, from where we could see Tinkerbell LAND from her flight. If you're seeing this fireworks show for the FIRST time, however, be sure to watch it from Main Street. It's extraordinary! The last picture is another view of the Partners statue near the center of Disneyland, where Walt often stood surveying the magical kingdom that started with a mouse.
