Thanks for your responses on what size wallpaper you want. Beginning with this month's selections, 800x600 is the standard size you'll see when you click on the thumbnail picture. This is a good size for most 17" monitors. All wallpapers also come in 1024 x 768 for 19" monitors. As these are larger files, they'll take longer to download. The small 640 x 480 pictures will no longer be shown in new updates. If you need one that size email me.

It was delightful to see two light snows this January in Joshua Tree National Park (JTNP). The first esnded in early morning, and we couldn't find snow on the ground until we got nearly to Keys View, the highest point in the park, near which we took the first picture.

Another day snow didn't reach JTNP until late afternoon. It was snowing as we arrived at Hidden Valley and were greeted by this patient, lightly snow-dusted coyote. She'd get bored and walk away for an occasional rest from the picture taking, but she let me approach within about 16 feet a couple of times. Note: Coyotes are wild animals, and their lack of fear toward humans can make them dangerous. When visiting JTNP do not feed or try to pet them.

This waterfall at Disneyland displays Snow White and Dwarf sculptures which were a much-treasured gift to Disney. The sculptor made this Snow White the same height as the Dwarfs, but in Disney's animated movie she's much taller. Disney solved the dilema by created this waterfall scene in a perspective that makes Snow White APPEAR to be taller than the dwarfs.

The next picture, of Alice's Village, is nearly life-size. It's taken from a Storybook Land canal boat at Disneyland. Storybook Land is full of the miniature homes and villages of favorite storybook characters such as Alice in Wonderland and Pinnochio. Tiny bonzai plants and trees complete the landscape.
