Macaw Summer Olympics 2000

KAT's Meow TOC
While much of the world was watching the Summer Olympics on TV, my ladyfriend Chiquita and I, Sonora, your handsome, charming and humble host, competed in the Macaw Olympics.

Here I am, at Mono Village, California, where the event was held the last two weeks of September.
Mono Village
Being the athletic, fun-loving macaws that we are, we enterered several events. Mine were:
  • Log rolling
  • Tree climbing
  • Cycling
  • Speed skating
  • Roller racing
Chiquita's events:
  • Chicks' balance beam
  • Tree climbing
  • Cycling
  • Speed skating
  • Roller racing
Due to the overwhelming demand of our fans, most of the photos below are linked to 640 x 480 pixel photos you can print or use for desktop wallpaper. Click the picture. When the large photo comes up, right click it then save or set as desktop wallpaper.

Balance Beam
Beak touch that took her out of competition
Here I am, roll roll rolling the log. This is just before I fell off and got the COLD instead of the GOLD. Chiquita, just after a double backflip on the balance beam. She might have won a medal if her beak hadn't touched the beam after the flip.
Climbing Event
No, Chiquita, don't look DOWN!
Cycling Event

We didn't win the tree climbing. Chiquita turned out to be afraid of heights. We were sure we'd win the cycling contest, until they told us it was BIcycling instead of REcycling.

I Fly Through My Race
What do you mean, skating, not flying?
Neither of us would ever race without first checking to make sure the wheels were on tight .
(This photo isn't clickable.)
Some silly judge disqualified me from singles speed skating, saying "No flying allowed".

Guess I shouldn't have stopped for the peanuts
For the many of you (ok, ONE. Thanks, Mom) who have requested autographed pictures click here for Chiquita's. For MY autographed picture, click here. The fans went wild and threw peanuts as Chiquita and I took first and second place. She may have gotten the gold, but I got the peanuts. (This isn't clickable, as we didn't want you getting peanut shells all over your desktop.)
This concludes our coverage of Macaw Olympics 2000. Thank you for watching. For more photos of Chiquita and me, click on buttons below.
